Introduction to Guitar Circle Practice, Ecuador

This course is designed for participants with or without experience playing the guitar, from beginners to professionals. The «Introduction to Guitar Circle Practice» course will provide an introduction to Guitar Craft Tuning, work in Guitar Circles, and basic and advanced guitar techniques. We will review fundamental principles in the use of both hands, guitar calisthenics, the development of personal and group practice, as well as work in a circle and repertoire.

Instruction is given on acoustic (steel-string) guitars using pick. In addition, as part of the workshop, there will be Tai Chi and Qi gong practices.

The course consists of 4 in-person sessions on Saturdays and 4 virtual sessions via Zoom on Wednesdays. It will begin on Saturday, January 11 and conclude on February 8, 2025 with a live performance.

This gathering is also open to anyone who has participated in Guitar Craft, Guitar Circle courses or Introductions to GC Tuning. We recommend it to those who feel the need to continue or reconnect with their work and to those who wish to prepare for future Guitar Craft, Guitar Circle, and Moving Music projects.

Who is it for?

This introductory course is open to people with any level of guitar experience, from beginners to professionals. The aim is to establish a relationship with the guitar, with music, and with oneself.

What will be presented in the course?

  • Bodywork (Tai Chi, Qi gong).
  • The principles of Guitar Craft, Guitar Circle (GC). NST (New Standard Tuning).
  • Calisthenic exercises and principles (Guitar technique).
  • Initial Guitar Craft repertoire.

Contribution: 30 USD for the entire course.
