From Orchestra to the League – and Return: Beyond Calisthenics, Repertoire, Performance
This integrated course is designed to build on our seven years work with MeM – our first octave – within the tradition of Guitar Craft/ Guitar Circle.
The aim is to develop the skills and repertoire we have for the Orchestra. This work will then be complemented with preparatory work for the League of Crafty Guitarists.
The League work will involve more in-depth and detailed study of Guitar Craft Guitar themes and related repertoire. Our focus here will be reliability and tonality. These pieces will support our work together and deepen our awareness and integration of heads, hands and heart – as musicians and in our broader everyday lives.
Everyone on the course will work in both elements: the Orchestra and the League.
All the MeM areas of work will also be present: Kitchen/ House Craft, Morning Sitting/ Exercises, Calisthenics, personal work/ Themes, Body work, composition, performance.
Orchestra and League work will be presented in public performances.
Marcela Diez Leys, Feldenkrais instructor from the Euro-TAB (The European Training Accreditation Board) will present the principles of the Technique. Tai Chi and Qi-Gong will also be available.
This is an opportunity to develop our skills, knowledge and experience in a range of contexts. We will discover where we are and give individual attention to specific group and individual needs.
From the 10th to the 12th of July the Guitar Orchestra will Tour in Mendoza Province.
Luciano Pietrafesa, Fernando Kabusacki and Mike Grenfell will coordinate this Gathering with the local support of MeM Mendoza.
Itinerary:
Monday the 7th of July: Arrivals during the afternoon before 18:00 hs.
Thursday 10th to Saturday 12th of July: «The Guitar Orchestra Tour IX in Mendoza.»
Sunday the 13th of July: Departures at noon.
